Stalley is part of Maybach Music Group, but he’s not getting as much shine as his label mates; Wale and Meek Mill. Stalley made it clear that he’s not about being too humble and wants his recognition. He talked about dropping the best video this week and not getting nearly as much attention as G.O.O.D. Music’s “Mercy” video (contestant for video of the year) or Hit Boy’s “Jay-Z Interview” (which I’m not impressed by).
Read what he had to say below.
“I’m tried of holding myself back, I dropped the Best video that came out this week and y’all worried about Mercy or a Jay-Z interview. I’m disinterested in Mass Media.
People say i’m mad, but i’m not this fake person who is always happy and Humble. I’m a Savage.
I put everything in my music and i’m really sick of being overlooked.
I put out the best two mixtapes in the last two years. No Hype around them, just good music.
I’m not hating on any one artist or anyones music. I’m just saying my music is up to par or better than then music people go crazy over.
Respect the groundwork
Respect the passion
Jealously is a weak trait to have, but passion is an honorable Trait. I love what I do and i’m very passionate about my work and art I put out. Everyone says stay humble but what is humble? Is staying humble saying let everyone walk over you or overlook you?
A humble man never owned anything, but a humble life. This is all love coming out. Love for my art and the hard work I put into it. Be leaders, Speak your mind and see with your heart.”
So,what do you think about all this, is Stalley right? Does he deserve more credit for his work? Compare Stalley’s video below to Hit Boy’s video.
