Lil Wayne Reveals Why He Partnered Up With Supra For His Own Shoe Line

This skate thing lil Wayne has going on brought ‘em some good things, like that DEWeezy campaign, Trukfit being sold at Macys. To add to this catalog, Weezy announced a partnership with Supra footwear to release his own line of shoes, in an interview with MTV.

Lil Wayne explained that his connection with Supra started of before he started skating, saying:

“I was just rocking ‘em when I was skating and stuff and when I got real cool with the homey, [skateboarder] Stevie Williams, it was like a plug from him,” Wayne told MTV News about his collaboration with Supra. “It was just a mutual respect on each end so it was just bound to happen.”

Crazy thing is that he didn’t even know about Supra till lately, according to him.

“I look at the reality and the facts of it, like I been rocking this shoe before I even knew what it was. So for me to start skating and for these shoe lines to start coming at me like, ‘Hey, we wanna give you your own skate shoe,’ it was only right for me to mess with the people I been messing with even before they were a skate shoe.”

The shoes will keep us waiting a while, they will be coming out May1st 2013. Y’all can start saving. So Wayne’s music is being criticized lately, cause he’s only talking about Trukfit and skating in his verses. Can you blame the man, when skating got him on a winning streaak business-wise??
